Brandon Beginnings
Three dedicated Fallbrook artists; Virginia Polise, Jeanne Shanahan, and Mary Tomaskevitch founded this professional artists' cooperative on Brandon Street in 1977. Jeanne and Mary remain active members.
Brandon Gallery is now in the heart of historic downtown Fallbrook, and membership has expanded to include nearly 30 members. Its mission is promoting and selling fine art through exhibition, demonstration, and outreach programs.
What makes Brandon Gallery Unique?
Brandon specializes in marketing original artwork at affordable prices – affordable because artworks are sold directly from artist to customer without an intermediary.
Brandon artists often give painting demonstrations at the Gallery, perform desk and reception duties, as well as other activities that enable customers to know personally the artists they patronize. Gallery members regularly win awards in both regional and national art competitions.
Brandon art covers the creative spectrum from:
- Sculpture to abstract expressionistic painting to aviation-themed artworks,
- Experimental photography,
- Paintings in all media and styles, including Chinese Brush Painting,
- Art supplies, and
- Textile art, printmaking, collage art, and plein air paintings.
Brandon offers high quality consignment art including works of well known regional jewelry designers, award-winning ceramists, glass blowers, woodworkers and gourd artists. Our expanded art supplies store boasts a wide range of competitively proced items ranging from brushes and paints to sketch books and canvases. Drop by to see these products and more.
STUDIO 105
A smaller gallery space within the Gallery that provides a rotating venue for art groups who wish to rent the space on a monthly basis, for student exhibitions, book arts, and other themed events.
Forming Collaborative Partnerships
All member and guest artists have their work juried into the Gallery: i.e. a representative sample of their work must be approved by the entire Brandon membership.
Guest artists can show their work for up to three months in the Gallery without being a member. Additionally, several Featured Artists show in the Gallery each year. Featured artists are invited guests with a following in the region.
A New Chapter is Written
In 2002, Brandon Gallery became part of the Fallbrook Arts, Inc. Group, a 501(c)3 corporation.
Nonprofit status allows Brandon to host fund raising events that are unique and creative.
